Yiyang Sun is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Before coming to Minnesota, she received her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Florida State University in 2017 and her B.S. in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2012. Her work develops open- and closed-loop control strategies to alter undesirable fluid flow features. She is also interested in modal analysis to shed lights on physics-driven flow control designs evaluated by performing high-fidelity large-scale simulation.
